Brick delivered broken screen TV - LG 60 " smart LED 3D TV


We purchased a smart TV in February from the brick and had it delivered to our house on March 12, 2014. The delivery men from the brick just dropped the TV and didn't open and set it up for us. For some reasons we just left the TV unopened sitting in our living room for about a week and a half. Then, we found out that there was a palm-sized dent on the screen of the TV in the middle of its top edge when we were trying to set up the TV on March 23, 2014.

We immediately went to the brick store and told a male manager there that they delivered a damaged TV to us. We were told that because we have exceeded the 7-day time limit to report the damage and they could do nothing about it. No one in the store ever told us about this rule before we made the payment. However, we were directed to contact their warranty department and were told that they would deal with the matter like this. So, I phoned their warranty department next day (March 24) and was told that they provided no warranty to a broken screen. I was kicked back to the store just like a football.

So, I went to the store again, this time a female clerk told me to take some pictures of the damaged TV and she would send them to manufacturer for me. I took some pictures and gave them to a female manger in the morning on March 25. A couple of hours later she told me that the manufacturer didn't agree to replace a new one, therefore, I had no other choice but to kept the damaged one and they could do nothing. By the way, we also bought a so-called extended warranty for nearly $500. When asked if this warranty could kick in this time, and were told it didn't cover a broken screen! But they explained nothing but told us that it would cover everything before we bought this warranty.

I just cannot believe that we should suffer such a big loss (TV costs us almost $2300 including the extended warranty) just because delayed opening the package. Actually, it is their delivery policy that the delivery persons should remove all the packages when delivering a TV lager than 27%u201D. The one we bought is 60%u201D. That is the part of reason we didn%u2019t find and report the damage in time.

That is awful... Wow. I was about to spend over $2000 at the brick but decided to look at some reviews first, and now I'm glad I did. I will be shopping elsewhere! Thank you for posting this!
