I went to The Brick store in Kirkland, Quebec for the very first time, whereby I came across accent tables that matched perfectly with my living room. Little did I know what a disaster my purchase was about to become! The young lady who had served us took forever to organize the paperwork involved. It was about 9:30 pm when we left the store, after we arrived at 7:00 pm!! At one point, I asked her to give me the phone and I spoke to the TD credit officer at the other end; finally, all was confirmed.

Once we received the Brick invoice at home, we were surprised to see an 'annual fee' was added and which we were NEVER informed about. Not knowing what this entailed, I phoned the Kirkland store. To my disappointment, the gentleman was NOT at all helpful even though our purchases had been at their store a few weeks earlier; I asked to speak to the young lady who had served us and was told she was no longer working there. He asked me to phone the Brick customer call center and was given the phone number. When I phoned, the agent was NOT helpful either..."Yes, there is an annual fee...too bad sales person did not inform you"!!

When we received the tables, we learned the delivery people do not open the boxes; the customer has to do that and if anything is wrong, customer has to contact the Brick customer service center. My husband opened the boxes and one of the tables was very defective (scratches, legs of table did not fit properly).

We phoned and requested another table be delivered; this took another 2-3 weeks. When the delivery of the 2nd table arrived, I asked delivery people because of the previous damaged table received, could they please open the box and check to ensure no damage to table. "NO" was their reply because once again, they do not open the boxes. It turned out that the 2nd table was even more 'defective' than the 1st table with some parts missing!!

We phoned Brick once again and waited another few weeks; on this 3rd delivery, the table was not damaged. I took the liberty of expressing my frustration to the Brick customer service center in that obviously their "quality control is very poor". We were very disappointed that no compensation was ever offered to uus.

I would NEVER recommend any one to purchase at Brick store! the continuous multitude of The Brick negative reviews speak for themselves.
